Times Square Goes British

I have posted several times about the amazing displays mounted by all of the malls in Hong Kong. It seems that each time we go to one there is something new and interesting to see.

This time we went to Times Square in Causeway Bay. They always seem to have the most elaborate exhibits complete with indoor and outdoor displays and interactive elements. This time we were treated to an outdoor display featuring a taste of Britain. There was a full size double decker bus and the kiddies could climb behind the wheel.

A quaint little station scene was also there.

Once inside, the center court was filled with a very interesting art exhibit.

Mike Stilkey has worked to combine two of his passions, books and art, into a very interesting exhibition. He uses the covers and spines of books as his canvass and paints his unique works. As the works are moved from site to site, each book is packed separately and then reassembled in the new location. The signature piece of this exhibit is about 25 feet tall. That's a lot of books!

There were quite a few pieces on exhibit. What a wonderful way to go shopping.
