Eating on Top of the World

Saturday night Caslin arranged for us to have drinks and dinner at Ku De Ta on the Sky Deck of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. We felt very lucky because it is difficult to get reservations there if you are not a member or a hotel guest.

The cavernous lobby spans all three towers and is most impressive. We actually didn't even go in the casino. One interesting fact is that foreigners can enter the casino at will. Singaporeans have to pay S$100 to enter. This keeps the local population form wasting too much money gambling.

Up on the Sky Deck the three towers are once again connected. The deck is designed to resemble a floating ship. One of the best features on the deck itself is the negative edge pool that provides incredible views of the city.

After a drink in the bar we settled into our open air booth for another wonderful meal. The food is served small plate style and it was all terrific. We especially enjoyed the squid and roast duck. The biggest surprise of all was that Ken had two servings of the spinach - he liked it!

We also had a chance to take in Singapore by night. It is truly an awesome sight.

Thank you, Caslin, for a wonderful evening.
