Christmas Memories

Christmas morning finally arrived and perhaps the most excited were the cats. Poppy could hardly wait to play with the bows and paper, not to mention the ornaments she had been toying with all month.

Johnny joined us for the morning's festivities and everyone had a wonderful time seeing what Santa brought during the night.

Ken made his special holiday french toast and later we were joined by Carol and Uncle Harold as well as Bob for Christmas dinner.

Our Christmas table was especially beautiful with the mother of pearl place mats and accessories Rommel brought from the Philippines. They had quite a journey to make it to our table and what a beautiful addition they made.

Tom, Heidi and Sophie popped in for dessert and joined in the fun of our Christmas poppers as well.

It was a wonderful day filled with family and good food and once again we had a  reminder of how much we have to be thankful for.

The remaining time in GR sped by with fitting in those last few visits and packing more appropriate clothes for our return. (Our original return date of July left us with woefully out of season clothing once October arrived.) New Year's day found us spending time with some old friends and our suitcases. January 2nd brought the first snowfall of the year, but luckily our departure was not delayed.

We have settled back into our routine here with Ken in Beijing at the moment. Tomorrow I take the train to Guangzhou to meet him and spend a few days exploring. New things to blog about coming soon.
